Bên-têna Dêtîkè (/ɘˈfɘdɘ/ /ˈtɘna/ [premier] [suitcase; baggage]) is a subtropical Small Town located in the Ëradîvë Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Bên-têna Dêtîkè is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Bên-têna Dêtîkè was founded by Shèbë Fyêrèlê, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Bên-têna Dêtîkè has a yearly average temperature of 23°C (73°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 21°C (69°F). Bên-têna Dêtîkè receives an average of 208 cm/y (81 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Bên-têna Dêtîkè covers an area of nearly 4 km² (1 mi²), and an average elevation of 4554 m (14940 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Bên-têna Dêtîkè was founded durring the early 11th century, by Shèbë Fyêrèlê. The establishment of Bên-têna Dêtîkè was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Shèbë Fyêrèlê electing to pay people to resettle in Bên-têna Dêtîkè.

Bên-têna Dêtîkè was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Bên-têna Dêtîkè is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Bên-têna Dêtîkè is was constructed arround several crampt packed earth mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks and fences to provide minimal protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. The town's somewhat suffishent are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

A look around Bên-têna Dêtîkè is like a look into a broken heart which long ago fell to corruption. There is no planning, no organization. Everyone here clearly goes about their own thing with little thought to anyone around them who isn’t selling something they need… unless of course, they would be an easy target for some robbery. The town has truly fallen to evil.

Bên-têna Dêtîkè has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Bên-têna Dêtîkè has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Bên-têna Dêtîkè's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Bên-têna Dêtîkè possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Bên-têna Dêtîkè has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Bên-têna Dêtîkè has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Bên-têna Dêtîkè's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for the combined use of arcuated and trabeated construction, employing arches and constructed with post and lintel. The arch served as the style's chief structural element, with flanking columns serving as buttresses or decorations. While the general shape of their structures could be generously described as simplistic, the use of these arches and columns created a most distinct ascetic which is easily distinguishable on sight to armatures and experts alike.

Bên-têna Dêtîkè's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves orgies to channel Augury energies of tier 2 via singing.
